It's been a while since I posted anything here, but there hasn't been much going on. I got a letter from the FMCSA (posted below) saying there was a backlog, and they didn't know when they'd get my information to me. My car started running real bad, and I had to have it fixed. The total bill was $1683.00+ (posted below).
All my family members know about the "rent" crisis. I won't go into the details here, except to note that it happened sometime last week, and was a fairly big deal to all concerned. It changed my way of thinking about a lot of things that go on around here. So now it's noted - for the record.
The best news I've had lately was a phone call from the only place I've applied to about a job. That happened yesterday afternoon. It's a reefer company (refrigerated trailers) out of Dothan, who also uses Dr. Flagman for their physicals. Marslover (the name I'm giving her) said she's already received faxes back from my previous employers. All that's left now, Marslover said, is to get my MVR back (to make sure their insurance company will accept me); interview with the owner of the company; and get another physical - which I'll have to pay for myself.
The starting pay is ridiculously low, but Marslover kinda indicated there'd be an increase upon evaluation. They have BCBS insurance, but Marslover didn't know how much it would be because there are different options to the health insurance.
Regardless of the negatives about this job, I'm almost overjoyed at the prospects of having one at all. Plus, my DAC report won't show a bunch of inquiries - just like a credit report looks bad when it shows everybody and their dog has inquired about your credit, I think it looks kinda bad when everybody and their dog inguires about your job history.
Marslover said she'd call me back today.
